The newly-inaugurated Mumbai airport will start operations in December 2025.
It is to be noted here that ticket sales are expected to start by the end of October. IndiGo, Akasa Air and Air India Express will commence flights.
The Navi Mumbai airport that has been inaugurated by PM Modi today, worth Rs 19,650 crore. With this, the Mumbai airport is now on the global list of cities that have multiple airports. Some other airports in the list include London, New York, and Tokyo.
The NMIA is being called “anxiety-free” airport. Talking about the same, Arun Bansal, CEO of Adani Airports Holdings Limited (AAHL), said, “You will be able to get a message on your phone telling you, for example, that your bag is number 20 on the carousel.”
